IN DEVELOPMENT / BUILT FOR IRISH EARLY YEARS

Staff management built
around your crèche.

Familiar room teams. Less scattered paperwork. A clearer plan for the day. Meet the childcare staff management software we're building for Irish early years services.

An early look at CrecheDesk. These are design concepts with fictional nursery and staff details, not a live application. Features may evolve as we build.

01 / STAFF RECORDS & DOCUMENTS

The details, together.

Qualifications, Garda vetting status, references, training renewal dates and policy acknowledgements can easily end up scattered across folders and spreadsheets. We’re designing a staff record that brings those pieces together, with clear gaps and dates to review.

Inspection preparation is part of that picture: a focused pack of relevant staff evidence, with missing items visible and the manager in control of what is shared.

  • One organised record for each staff member
  • Qualification evidence and training renewal reminders
  • Versioned policies and staff acknowledgements

02 / ROOMS & FAMILIAR FACES

Keep the team children know.

Childcare staffing does not start from scratch every Monday. Your regular room teams provide continuity, while other educators may prefer a room or work across the service as cover staff.

CrecheDesk is being designed around fixed rooms, preferred rooms and staff with no home room. A temporary move should not silently rewrite someone’s usual assignment.

  • Stable room teams and clearly marked preferences
  • Cover educators without a compulsory home room
  • One-day changes that preserve the regular pattern

03 / HOURS, BREAKS & COVER

Plan the exceptions.
Keep the rhythm.

Opening and closing shifts, part-time hours, term-time calendars and lunch cover all need to fit together. We’re building repeating work patterns so the usual arrangement can carry forward, while managers focus on the changes.

A room leader may work part-time in an ECCE setting. A cover educator may support several rooms at different times. Roles, hours, calendars and room assignments will be kept separate, because that is how real teams work.

  • Repeating weekly and multi-week patterns
  • Planned breaks and cover for specific time windows
  • Visible gaps and advisory warnings, with manager-led decisions

04 / A CLEARER DAY FOR STAFF

Useful for the whole team.

Staff need a simple way to see their own published work plan, request leave and tell their manager when they cannot work. The planned staff portal brings those everyday tasks into a straightforward mobile view.

It is intended for use outside childcare rooms, including on a shared workplace computer. Room preferences can support planning without automatically changing an employee’s agreed availability.

  • Personal work plans, including term-time arrangements
  • Leave requests and manager-maintained balances
  • Absence reporting that highlights all affected cover periods

A few things worth knowing.

Is CrecheDesk available yet?

CrecheDesk is in development. These screens illustrate the product direction; they are not access to a live application. We have not announced a launch date or pricing.

Who is CrecheDesk being built for?

Managers, providers and staff in Irish early years services, including full-day care, part-time services and sessional ECCE settings. The focus is staff administration and the everyday organisation of room teams.

Will CrecheDesk make staffing decisions for me?

No. The intended approach is to show the plan, explain gaps and highlight matters to review. Staffing decisions remain with the manager. Continuing with a plan does not turn a warning into a confirmation of compliance.

Is this a live child attendance or clock-in system?

The first version focuses on staff records, planned work, leave, absence reporting and policy acknowledgements. Room coverage is a planning view, not a live record of children attending or proof of hours actually worked.

Thoughtful tools. A calmer working day.

We’re getting CrecheDesk ready for Irish early years teams.
